SW2 Website Integration

This information explains the various methods of getting vacancies displayed on your website together with Applicant registrations and on-line timesheets.

SW2 Overview:
SW2 is a desktop application that runs across a LAN with all data held on a server or PC at the client location (excludes SW2:Remote which is hosted on a ProjectHouse server). SW2 does not necessarily require an internet connection to run, however, one is required to "post" vacancies.

2. Integrating on-line timesheets

Integrating Vacancies:
Serveral integration options exists depending on what functionality you currently provide and/or wish to keep within your current website.

1. Use standard pages
2. Export via Microsoft Access
3. Direct to existing database
4. XML Feed

Option 1 - Use standard pages
This option allows for quick integration without the need for a database and vacancy search engine on the website.

Vacancies are automatically posted from SW2 to an SQL database on a ProjectHouse server where a set of ASP pages are available to display the information. These pages are unique to the client and must reside on our server but can be branded to make them appear integral to the main website. (FTP access can be supplied upon request).

This options caters for vacancy searching, vacancy display, vacancy applications, applicant registration and job alert registration.

The following links display sample unbranded asp pages:

Applicant Registration
Job Searching
Job Of The Week
Job-Alerts
Candidate Searching
Candidate-Alerts
Latest Vacancies

Option 2 - Export via Microsoft Access
If you already have the ability to display vacancies on your website and want to keep the current solution, we can configure SW2 to export vacancies to a Microsoft Access dababase. This file can be automatically FTP'd to your server hosting your website ready for import into your current database.

Although this will give you the ability to display vacancies on your website, it will still require development by your website hosting company to provide features such as a vacancy search engine, vacancy applications, applicant registration etc.

A sample of the Access database can be downloaded here

Option 3 - Direct to existing database
If you already have the ability to display vacancies on your website and want to keep the current solution, we can post vacancies direct to your database. For this we will require a full table structure together with connection information, suck as database name, External hostname, Host port, database user name and Password.

Although this will give you the ability to display vacancies on your website, it will still require development by your website hosting company to provide features such as a vacancy search engine, vacancy applications, applicant registration etc.

We can only confirm that this option is viable once we have been provided with the full table structure.

Option 4 - XML Feed
If you want to import vacancies into your own database we can provide an XML feed that contains all vacancy information.

A sample of the XML feed can be seen here

Integrating On-line Timesheets:
Due to the complex nature of on-line timesheets, the pages for this feature must reside on the ProjectHouse server. The company logo is used to allow a degree of branding.
The only integration option for on-line timesheets is to have a link from your website.
An example can be seen at www.sector-recruitment.co.uk and clicking on the "Online Timesheets" link.
